Walleyecapital External Students Special Projects Developer Intern at Walleye Capital for Summer 2027 to develop AI-native tools and support strategic initiatives. Internship located in New York City for 10 weeks.
Responsibilities
Support the team in translating high-level strategic objectives into structured project plans and executable workflows.
Contribute to greenfield projects throughout the development lifecycle, including research, scoping, prototyping, testing, and implementation.
Build and enhance internal AI-native tools, user-facing applications, automations, and processes.
Act as an internal technological consultant/liaison to teams across the firm to understand business needs, gather domain expertise, and help advance cross-functional initiatives.

We seek individuals who:
Are pursuing an undergraduate or non-MBA master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Showcase excellent communication and problem-solving skills, an ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences, intellectual curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguous problems.
Are a proactive self-starter with demonstrated leadership ability, strong ownership mentality, and the initiative to move projects forward independently.
Demonstrate exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with a strong foundation in programming (specifically Python) and a passion for technological innovation; familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and API development is a plus.
Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, drive efficiency, and improve workflows; hold experience integrating AI services, including LLMs or APIs, into academic, research, internship, or personal projects.
Have a genuine interest in the hedge fund industry and how high-performing organizations operate, with previous internship, research, or project experience in financial services, technology, or another fast-paced environment.
