Senior Subject Matter Expert (Mechanical) - Rolling Stock Engineering

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering
• P.E. license is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Rail vehicle engineering covering rolling stock design, production, testing and operations as well as aspects of fleet management.
• Engineering experience covering all major rolling stock mechanical subsystems including brakes, trucks, car body/CEM, doors, doors, air conditioning, passenger interior equipment etc. Structural engineering experience is highly desired.
• Experience working with Intercity, commuter, Light/Heavy Rail is required
• Experience with regulatory bodies, including the FRA/FTA in relation to rail vehicle design and operation.
• Technical project management experience required.
• Experience with low- and zero-emission, such as batteries and hydrogen, in rail applications is advantageous.
• Working Conditions and Travel:
• You may primarily work from your home office and/or a well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Travel will be required to supervise project implementation, including inspections of vehicles. Some overnight travel by land and air.
