Responsibilities

Ship and refine production code across routing and processing stack
Lead initiatives to make platform more reliable, faster, and cost-efficient
Shape system design including data model changes and failure strategy
Take on complex, mission-critical codebases and lift engineering standards
Mentor engineers and guide technical direction at Staff level

Required

An engineer with 8+ years of experience who is still deep in the code every day
A Java expert with strong fundamentals in concurrency, performance, and building reliable systems at scale
Someone who writes system designs, defends them in review, and runs what you build in production
At home in a regulated, cloud-native, high-availability environment
Experienced in payment processing, card issuing, or network integration (JPOS, ISO 8583, or similar)

Preferred

Cryptography or key management experience (HSM, AWS Payment Cryptography, KMS)
Experience running systems across multiple regions, including tested failover
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS
