fab2 Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at fab2 designs and iterates on specialized semiconductor fabrication equipment. The role involves owning end-to-end semiconductor fabrication systems and partnering with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at fab2, you'll design, iterate on, and build specialized equipment for semiconductor fabrication.
We're looking for hands-on engineers across various disciplines to design, iterate on, and build complex systems. Whether tackling heavy design challenges, integrating mechanical, optical, and electronic components, or automating production and manufacturing processes, our philosophy is to get things built and tested in days or weeks—not months—with a focus on viable solutions that meet real production needs.
The ideal candidate moves through design cycles fast and can own the end to end process. Our philosophy is to get things built/tested in days or weeks, not months. Because of this, a portfolio is generally required to apply: show us the things you’ve actually built!
Own semiconductor fabrication systems and subsystems end-to-end, including deposition, etch, annealing, and plasma tools, as well as subsystems such as mass flow controllers, pressure sensors, valves, and pumps.
Design and iterate on machines and subsystems for semiconductor fabrication
Create mechanical designs including frames, components, and assemblies
Partner closely with the process, electrical, software, and production teams
Source components and materials while working with vendors to meet project specifications
