Required
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
15+ years of electrical engineering on medium-voltage switchgear, either at an equipment manufacturer or specifying and commissioning it for mission-critical facilities.
Hands-on with metal-clad and metal-enclosed switchgear, vacuum circuit breakers, protection relays, and arc-resistant designs.
Working knowledge of IEEE C37, IEC 62271, and NEC requirements for medium-voltage installations.
You write specifications that a vendor can bid without a meeting.
You're comfortable with regular travel: expect 25% or more, depending on business needs.
Most of our engineering team, stakeholders, and work are based in Austin, TX, and we value working in person. We have a strong preference for Austin and run a hybrid model, but we're open to other locations for the right role and candidate.
Bonus: Professional Engineer license. Experience with switchgear for high-density compute loads. Exposure to solid-state breakers or medium-voltage DC.
Physical Requirements
Work in non-climate-controlled environments, including active construction areas, data halls, electrical and mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces. Temperatures can be high or low, and conditions can be humid, loud or dusty.
Lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds on your own.
Sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend and crouch for long periods, including full shifts on your feet.
