Farmersmutualhailinsurancecompany The Crop Insurance Underwriting Intern at Farmers Mutual Hail assists underwriters with documentation and learns fundamentals of crop insurance. The role includes supporting projects to improve underwriting efficiencies and gaining exposure to claims and sales teams.

Responsibilities

Assists Underwriters with the preparation, keying, and review of acreage reports, hail applications, and amendments.
Learns and applies the fundamentals of crop insurance.
Supports departmental projects focused on improving efficiencies within Underwriting.
Participates in job shadowing opportunities with the Claims team to gain exposure to claims processes.
Accompanies the Sales team on agency visits to observe and learn about client interactions and relationship management.
Provides general administrative support to Underwriting and other departments as needed.
Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualification

EducationSkills

Required

Education: Currently enrolled at an undergraduate college or university (Juniors and Seniors may get preference), majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, Agricultural Business, Business Administration or related field. (May 2027 graduates will not be eligible).
Skills: Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
