Campus Senior Accountant at Campus responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, revenue accounting, and actuals analysis. This role supports audits, tax work, and compliance reporting.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to help build and maintain the financial backbone that powers Campus’s growth. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with ownership of key month-end close activities, account reconciliations, revenue accounting, and actuals analysis. You will also support daily accounting operations, audits, tax-related work, and education-related compliance reporting.
Your immediate priorities are to learn Campus’s financial systems, chart of accounts, core processes, and financial model; take ownership of assigned close tasks and day-to-day accounting activities; and support the transition from QuickBooks to Campfire. You will learn how student activity flows through the numbers and help the team deliver a reliable monthly close in five business days or less.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
Own assigned month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, with complete supporting documentation and timely resolution of reconciling items.
Maintain accurate accounting for tuition, fees, scholarships and discounts, refunds, student receivables, deferred revenue, and other revenue streams in accordance with US GAAP and Campus’s accounting policies.
Investigate revenue and expense variances, explain the underlying activity, and prepare schedules used in financial statements, management reporting, and FP&A analysis.
Support daily accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses, and the general ledger; review and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and corporate card transactions for accurate coding, approvals, and policy compliance.
Partner with Student Accounts and Financial Aid to reconcile student-account activity, financial aid receipts, refunds, and returns to accounting records; investigate discrepancies and escalate issues promptly.
Support annual audits, tax-related work, Department of Education reporting, and other compliance workstreams by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding promptly to requests from Finance leadership and external advisors.
Support the QuickBooks-to-Campfire migration through data cleanup, account mapping, reconciliation of converted balances, testing, and documentation of new workflows.
Work across accounting and operational systems, including Campfire, Ramp, Rippling, Carta, and student and payment tools, to maintain reliable data and well-supported reconciliations.
Partner with Student Accounts, Financial Aid, IT, Student Technology Support, and other teams to resolve coding questions, improve workflows, and ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
