Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, Operational Intelligence, you will build and maintain applications, integrations, and automation that improve how our teams operate. This is a hands-on individual contributor role within Technical Operations, with software development as a core responsibility. We are looking for someone who brings strong systems experience: understanding how frontend and backend services fit together, how APIs connect them, and how software is built, deployed, and operated in production. You will own defined features and projects from understanding the operational problem through development, testing, rollout, and ongoing support. This role is suited to someone who enjoys writing code, investigating system behavior, and working directly with users to deliver solutions that remain useful and reliable after launch.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
Design and build full-stack features, connecting frontend interfaces to backend services and data stores, with a clear understanding of how requests, authentication, and data move through the system.
Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerting so failures are detected and diagnosed quickly.
Partner with DoorDash Engineering and platform teams to align Operational Intelligence systems with company infrastructure standards.
Work directly with operational users to identify recurring challenges, translate feedback into technical requirements, and deliver improvements from concept through rollout.
Develop integrations and data workflows using APIs, databases, and automated jobs to connect systems, improve information quality, and reduce manual handoffs.
Contribute to AI-powered troubleshooting and decision-support capabilities, evaluating their accuracy, usefulness, reliability, latency, and operating cost.
Use version control, code review, automated testing, and staging environments to validate changes before deploying them into operational workflows.
Investigate application and integration failures, identify root causes, implement fixes or mitigations, and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
Improve operational reporting by validating data relationships, metric definitions, and outputs used to inform decisions.
Create technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and user resources so others can confidently use and maintain the solutions you build.
