We’re seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of Web developers responsible for the firm’s core trading interface used by options market makers. The applications that you and your team build will aid traders and quant researchers in understanding market conditions, assessing risk and managing automated components in our system. Performance is key and we are always looking for more efficient and innovative ways to view the markets. This high-impact role combines technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and product ownership to drive the evolution of a mission-critical trading application. In this role, you will:

Lead and mentor a team of Web developers supporting Akuna's suite of web apps

Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to define project priorities and roadmap

Guide architecture, UI/UX design, and development best practices (TypeScript/React, Python)

Ensure code quality, scalability, and operational excellence

Translate complex trading requirements into actionable development plans

Qualities that make great candidates:

BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field

3+ years of professional web development experience

Strong understanding of software and user interface design principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Background in finance or trading systems (options experience preferred)
