Certifiedgroup The Pathology Lab Technician at Certified Group prepares samples and applies microbiological techniques for analytical testing of food products and environmentals. The role ensures quality control and maintains laboratory conditions in compliance with policies and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload
Maintain media and reagents for microbiological testing
Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials
Provide routine preventive maintenance including cleaning and sanitizing
Perform quality control monitoring such as incubator temperature checks and media controls
Independently pursue assigned processes and procedures per policies and customer requirements
Maintain laboratory condition including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records
Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner
Share information openly and timely
Assist with managing priorities and schedules to achieve individual and team goals
Responsible for personal safety

Required

High School diploma or GED
Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience, preferred
Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory
Ability to travel is preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
Noise level varies from quiet to loud
Temperature varies from hot to cold
Interactive and fast-paced team oriented tasks
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
