Required

Must be able to work on-site at our Durham, NC headquarters at least one day per week; two days preferred.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficient in Solidworks / Basic CAD skills a must-. Working knowledge: Photoshop, Illustrator, Power Point
Good written and visual presentation skills : / hand sketching a plus
Skills and experience with basic shop tools: hand tools, bench-top power tools. Ability to make simple mockups - foam, foamcore, wood, etc.
Motivated self-starter who is looking for the next task to complete. Someone who asks “what else can I help with”
Position would be roughly 25% design / 75% production
Basic Research skills, User study / Market study

Preferred

3D Printer usage experience.
Major Responsibilities:
The candidate will be using SolidWorks to create first pass CAD for new concepts and their iterations. This will involve proving out those concepts using the 3D printer or other modeling methods.
The candidate will also be performing some industry research and create a presentation on their findings.
There will also be an opportunity for user interface generation for concept products.
