About Us
Imbue is a radically different AI company.
We believe that data should belong to you, humans should come before technology, and everyone deserves to own a personal team of AI agents. We believe in a future of open agents that you can modify to do exactly what you want.
We’re building a suite of tools to make tech serve humans, and making it open source.
Some first projects include
• Sculptor: An interface for programmers to run coding agents in parallel and stay in flow
• mngr: A command-line tool for managing agents
• Bouncer: A Twitter feed filter that removes what you don't want to see and retrains your algorithm
• Vet: A standalone tool that catches AI coding mistakes and reviews full PRs
• Offload: A tool that automatically distributes your tests to run in isolated sandboxes
• Latchkey: A command-line tool to integrate local agents with third-party APIs
• Darwinian Evolver: A near-universal optimizer for code and agents
And we’re just getting started. If you’re excited about building a future with open agents, say hi!
We're supported by investors like Nvidia, Simon Last (co-founder of Notion), and Eric Schmidt (former CEO of Google), with $200M raised at over $1B valuation.
Summary
We are looking for recent graduates with strong engineering foundations and a deep curiosity to solve technical problems for the benefit of humans. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape our product and help build 0-1—not just the technologies that we use, but the overall direction of our product as it evolves. You will be responsible for building across our entire stack, understanding customer needs, and contributing to our product roadmap.
This role is broad: you might design APIs, build infrastructure, improve model tooling, or shape new product features, depending on where the need is greatest. We're looking for engineers who thrive in ambiguity, enjoy working across the stack, and are excited about building open source AI tools.

• Self-directed and independent
• Excellent at getting things done
• Someone that loves to sweat the details
• Able to navigate ambiguity and work independently without explicit directions
Compensation and Benefits
• Lunch provided daily to onsite employees
• Actively co-create and participate in a positive, intentional team culture
• Spend time learning, reading papers, and deeply understanding prior work.
• Frequent team events.
• Compensation packages are highly variable based on a variety of factors. If your salary requirements fall outside of the stated range, we still encourage you to apply. The range for this role is $150,000–$165,000 cash (plus equity).
How to Apply
All submissions are reviewed by a person, so we encourage you to include notes on why you're interested in working with us. If you have any other work that you can showcase (open source code, side projects, etc.), certainly include it! We know that talent comes from many backgrounds, and we aim to build a team with diverse skillsets that spike strongly in different areas.
