horizon3ai Senior Attack Engineer, GCP at horizon3ai to build next-generation Google Cloud Platform attack capabilities within NodeZero. Lead research and development of offensive security features for GCP.
Responsibilities
We're looking for an Attack Engineer with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise to help build the next generation of cloud attack capabilities within NodeZero.
This is a highly strategic role. As GCP adoption continues to grow among large enterprises, government organizations, and AI-focused infrastructure providers, our customers are increasingly asking for deeper GCP coverage. We already support AWS and Azure, and we're making a significant investment in GCP as the platform continues to gain traction among hyperscale customers and critical enterprise environments.
You'll join our NodeZero Attack team and take ownership of building GCP attack content from the ground up. You'll research Google Cloud services, identify attack paths and misconfigurations, develop offensive capabilities, and help shape how NodeZero assesses Google Cloud environments at scale.
This is not a maintenance role. You'll serve as the technical lead helping define Horizon3's GCP offensive security strategy and will have a first-hand influence on how GCP attacks are integrated into the platform.
Lead research into GCP attack paths, identity and trust relationships, service misconfigurations, and emerging attacker techniques.
Design, implement, and validate production-quality Python attack capabilities spanning GCP IAM, service accounts and workload identities, compute, Kubernetes/GKE, storage, databases, secrets, networking, and other cloud-native services.
Chain individual weaknesses into realistic attack paths, with reliable proof of exploitability and clear, actionable customer outcomes.
Set technical direction for GCP attack coverage: identify gaps, prioritize work with Product and Engineering, and translate research and customer needs into a sequenced roadmap.
Build and maintain safe, repeatable attack logic and supporting tests; investigate failures and improve reliability, precision, and maintainability.
Collaborate closely with software engineers, attack engineers, and offensive security SMEs to bring new capabilities into production.
Document research findings, attack methodologies, and technical design decisions.
Review designs and code, share domain expertise, and mentor other engineers as they develop GCP attack content.
