BETA Technologies The Manufacturing Engineer supports airframe assembly on the weekend shift and drives process and design improvements to reduce cycle time, labor hours, and non-conformances. This role defines and implements assembly methods for complex aircraft assemblies.

Responsibilities

Define and implement assembly/installation methods for complex assemblies and complete aircraft
Plan, create, and improve work instructions integrating engineering design requirements
Use FMEA and DOE techniques to determine root cause and execute corrective actions
Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to certification
Use Lean Six Sigma tools to drive continuous product improvements and integrate automation
Generate manufacturing assembly documentation and support personnel in manufacturing, inspection, and test operations
Design and implement manufacturing aids and tools for precision locating, drilling, fastening, and bonding
Participate in program scheduling to coordinate production timelines and identify critical path items

Qualification

Above and Beyond Qualifications

Required

Highly motivated to expedite and improve aircraft production
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Hands-on experience building and fixing things
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience working with cross-functional teams (production, design, quality, supply chain, certification, manufacturing)
Flexibility and comfort in working in a quickly changing environment
Direct experience working in manufacturing
Experience with CAD design - 3DX/CATIA preferred
Experience with ERP system tools – PLEX will be considered an asset
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
Experience as a manufacturing engineer performing lineside support, creating work instructions, defining assembly processes, and designing tools
Adept at interpreting and understanding engineering documentation, such as drawings and specifications
