Anduril Industries Metrology Technician at Anduril Industries performing quality inspections using metrology equipment and interpreting engineering drawings. Supports Production and R&D with measurement and inspection tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate CMM and other metrology equipment to perform precise measurements of parts to a defined inspection plan.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to understand measurement specifications.
Run existing inspection programs and create or edit simple programs using the appropriate software.
Perform routine calibration and maintenance checks on lab equipment, and help keep the lab clean and organized.
Analyze measurement data and produce clear, detailed inspection reports.
Identify out-of-spec results and equipment issues, and escalate appropriately.
Document observations and communicate findings clearly to the cross-functional teams requesting support.
Suggest process improvements to enhance measurement efficiency and accuracy.
Help ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 17025).

Qualification

Familiarity with CMM softwareAbility to obtain and maintain a UWorking knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14

Required

Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training.
2+ years of experience as a quality inspector or CMM operator.
Experience with metrology hand tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, etc.).
Familiarity with CMM software; PolyWorks preferred (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent acceptable).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred

Experience with 3D scanning or CT scanning.
Experience with optical measurement systems (OMM or 2D comparator).
Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Experience with PolyWorks|DataLoop or similar metrology data management platforms.
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 17025 quality systems.
