K2spacecorporation Counsel responsible for building and supporting the Legal function at K2 Space, focusing on contracting, NDA process management, and corporate support. This role supports company growth and legal scalability in a high-growth startup environment.

Responsibilities

As Counsel, you will be the primary point of contact for contracting matters, will oversee our NDA process, and will assist with a variety of other corporate matters, helping to scale the legal function for a rapidly growing startup. We view this role as the engine that will enable our team and the business to grow.
Note that this job requires in-person presence in our Torrance, CA headquarters.
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including procurement/supply chain agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and purchase orders, with mentoring from the Legal team.
Work hand-in-hand with K2 Space’s Supply Chain team to refresh template documents, navigate supplier negotiations, and manage procurement/supply chain issues arising out of IP disputes, late delivery, failure to meet contractual specifications, and similar matters.
Support the corporate and finance teams, including on cap table management.
Streamline the NDA process, including refreshing templates, establishing escalation points, centralizing NDAs, and creating processes to speed up the NDA lifecycle.
Create document storage protocols and single sources of truth for contract documentation, NDAs, and other key documents.

Required

J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
Member of the California State Bar
3+ years of relevant experience at a corporate law firm and/or in-house legal team
Direct experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including some combination of procurement/supply chain agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and purchase orders
Familiarity with INCO terms, customs issues, import regulations, and other regulatory matters impacting procurement/supply chain
Direct experience drafting and negotiating NDAs — bonus if it’s been in the aerospace, engineering, or technology industries
Strong organizational skills
