Versemedical Certified Professional Coder (CPC), DME at Versemedical responsible for accurate coding and documentation to ensure timely patient equipment delivery. Role includes running audits and reducing coding-driven denials.
Responsibilities
This isn't just a job; it's a chance to build something that matters. As a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), DME, you'll be shaping the future of at-home care. You'll be a key part of the team, working to make sure every order we fill is coded and documented correctly the first time, so patients get their equipment without delay and payors have no reason to say no.
What You'll Achieve: A Glimpse into Your Contributions
Within your first year, you will have the opportunity to:
Own the code set. You will be the final word on HCPCS Level II, modifier, and ICD-10-CM selection across our catalog, from CPAP and oxygen to hospital beds, enteral nutrition, mobility, and incontinence supplies.
Get us audit-ready and keep us there. You will run internal chart audits, lead our responses to payor and DME MAC documentation requests, and make sure our files hold up as volume grows.
Cut coding-driven denials measurably. Working with our RCM team, you will trace denials and write-offs back to their root cause and fix the upstream process instead of reworking claims one at a time.
What You'll Bring: The Skills and Experience You’ll Leverage
We believe that diverse experiences and backgrounds lead to better solutions. While we have an idea of what will help someone succeed in this role, we are open to being convinced by your unique story and skills. If you believe you can achieve the outcomes above, we encourage you to apply.
Core Skills & Experience:
Active CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification, with 3+ years coding or billing DMEPOS specifically. Credentials like CPMA, CPCO, or a DME-specific certification are a plus.
Fluency in HCPCS Level II and DME modifiers. KX, GA, GY, GZ, RR, NU, UE, RT/LT and the rest are second nature to you, along with the ICD-10-CM coding that has to support them.
Command of coverage policy: DME MAC LCDs and policy articles, standard written order and proof of delivery rules, capped rental schedules, state Medicaid DME manuals, and commercial medical policy.
