Aptura The Accounting AI Research Contributor at Aptura creates realistic Excel tasks based on legal and financial work to evaluate AI performance. The role involves writing tasks, completing them, and developing precise grading criteria to assess AI accuracy in legal professional tasks.

Responsibilities

Aptura is looking for Subject Matter Experts from legal practice, restructuring and insolvency, litigation support or legal operations, across disputes, insolvency, commercial or corporate matters, who build claims analyses, damages calculations and spend trackers in Excel. You have used AI tools on your own work and been frustrated by the mistakes they make. You will turn that experience into realistic Excel tasks that test how well AI does the work of a Legal Professional.
Writing realistic Excel tasks drawn from your own work: extending existing models, fixing broken ones and building from a brief
Working through each task yourself so there is a clear, correct answer
Writing yes-or-no criteria precise enough that a grader can mark any attempt against them
Necessary Qualifications
3+ years in legal practice, restructuring/insolvency, litigation support or legal operations, covering disputes, insolvency, commercial or corporate matters
Deep hands-on Excel: claims registers, damages calculations, data cleaning, multi-criteria lookups and error tracing
Strong written English communication skills.
Attention to detail, and willingness to learn concepts in AI and Evals

Qualification

Required

3+ years in sell-side or buy-side equity research covering a defined sector or universe of stocks
Deep hands-on Excel experience with earnings extraction, prediction, calendarisation, SOTP valuation, data packs, and nested formulas
Strong written English communication skills
Attention to detail and willingness to learn AI and Evals concepts
