Cssmerge The Light Commercial HVAC/R Technician at Cssmerge performs preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems across multiple sites. They support refrigeration, kitchen ventilation, and facility operations.
Responsibilities
HVAC/R & Facilities Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems
(WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems)
Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites
Support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems
Facility Operations Support
Travel between multiple sites (number of sites vary by region) throughout the week across the Greater DMV
Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work
System Performance & Troubleshooting
Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues
Qualification
Experience working with rooftop unitsHVAC Universal certification (EPAExperience in restaurantsWork Environment & ScheduleLocal travel between sites (home daily)
Required
5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience
Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration(Walk-Ins)
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally
Preferred
HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent)
Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities
Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
Work Environment & Schedule
Field-based role across the Greater DMV Area
Local travel between sites (home daily)
Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities
