AbbVie The 2027 Product Development, Science, and Technology Intern at AbbVie will develop new analytical methods for late-stage and commercial small-molecule assets using technologies such as HPLC, NIR/Raman spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The role involves method development, instrument setup, sample preparation, data collection, and method optimization.

Responsibilities

Developing novel analytical methods and evaluating method accuracy, precision sensitivity, robustness, etc.; Comparing methods across multiple instruments and platforms to determine the best fit for the intended application
Interpreting mass spectral data using appropriate software and data analysis workflows; Building chemometrics calibration model as appropriate
Supporting development of platform methods for peptide mapping and MS/MS based quantitative analysis of biologics and peptide-based drugs

Qualification

Currently enrolled in universityHands-on wet lab experience is requiredStrong writing and communication skills

Required

Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a BS in chemistry or other related field
Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
Expected graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028.
Hands-on wet lab experience is required

Preferred

Experience with common analytical techniques, including IR/Raman spectroscopy, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, etc.
Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally
Strong writing and communication skills
