Andromeda Member of the Technical Staff at Andromeda building software for AI labs to manage compute clusters across providers. Develop backend systems in Go with Kubernetes and Postgres and a TypeScript console.
Responsibilities
This is a new product. You will build its first versions with our principal engineers and with the research and infrastructure teams at the customers who use it. Most of the work is backend, in Go against Kubernetes and Postgres, with a TypeScript console on top. The backend manages each customer's clusters. You carry a pager and talk to customers every week.
One fleet: A customer brings clusters from us, from other providers, or from their own sites under one login and one way to run jobs.
Visibility: Customers see health, usage, spend, and alerts for every cluster in one place, so they stop building their own dashboards.
Identity and access: Organizations, roles, and single sign-on (SSO) that work across every cluster a customer runs.
Idle capacity: Customers see which GPUs sit unused, offer them on our marketplace, and get them back when they need them.
What to build next: You hear the problem from the customer, decide what to build, and ship it.

Required
Impressive technical work you can go deep on, with impact in the world. That can take three years or twenty.
Multi-tenant systems: You have built authorization, organizations, and data separation between tenants.
Kubernetes fluency: You have built against the Kubernetes API, not only deployed to it.
Telemetry pipelines: You have built the metrics, logs, or event pipelines behind dashboards and alerts people act on.
Backend depth: You have shipped production services in Go, or you have the systems background to ship production Go within your first month.
Enough front end to ship: You build the front end for each feature you own.
Production on-call experience: You have carried a pager for a system customers depend on, and made it quieter afterward.
Front end only: Most of this role is backend and infrastructure.
You need a spec: Requirements here arrive as a customer problem and a rough sketch.
You want a mature product: We have not shipped the first version yet.
