Associate - Tax

Required

• Core Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD); active bar admission in New York.
• 3–6 years of tax experience at a top law firm, with meaningful exposure to private investment funds (private equity, venture, credit and/or hedge).
• Strong technical foundation in Subchapters K and C; familiarity with UBTI, ECI, and fund structuring for diverse investor bases. Knowledge of Subchapter S and real estate tax planning a plus.
• High Interest in building AI-assisted workflows.
• High Interest in building a new law firm model, a great “roll-up the sleeves” attitude, agility in performing simple tasks to doing the hard core research on tough tax issues and not expecting AI to replace a lawyer’s judgment.
• High comfort with ambiguity, a necessary attribute when helping build a truly new law firm model powered by revolutionary technology
• What success looks like
• 30 Days: Learn firm AI platforms and tech teams supporting such platforms; Integrate with existing tax team and fund working groups on live deals; Assist in maintaining tax intake risk management for the firm.
• 60 Days: Master work flow integration with existing tax team and funds group. Independently manage discrete components of live matters.
• 90 Days: Take the lead in interfacing with tech teams to help improve AI-augmented workstreams for firm models and eventually, live workstreams.
