Method VP of Finance at Method responsible for leading Finance, Accounting, and Strategic Finance functions. This hands-on role includes process design, controls, audit management, board reporting, and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
Method is the financial connectivity layer for consumer liabilities, and our payments business brings real scale and complexity to finance. As we head into our next stage of growth, we are hiring a VP of Finance to build the finance operation that takes us there.
This is a hands-on role. Our metrics and forecasting are in good shape, and our finance team is strong. You will run the team day to day, connect the work across finance and accounting, and stay close to the details. You will also partner with Sales and Engineering leadership on approval processes and margin projects, and build our relationships with the board, auditors, and finance vendors.
Lead Finance, Accounting, Biz Ops, and Rev Ops day to day, owning team performance, priorities, and development, and uniting sub-teams around shared goals.
Own process management across finance and accounting, deciding what to build, when to transition it, and when to tighten it as Method scales.
Oversee relationships with external auditors and finance vendors, and build a trusted working relationship with the board through fluent reporting on Method's financial performance.
Inherit and extend the forecasting and business metrics frameworks, partnering with the outgoing finance lead through the transition.
Build proactive feedback loops with Sales, Engineering, and other functional leaders, including approval processes and margin projects that move forward without executive escalation.
Jump into high-impact projects, from board preparation and audits to corporate development should Method pursue an acquihire strategy.

Required
10+ years of experience in finance, with a rigorous analytical foundation, ideally investment banking, followed by operating roles inside a company rather than only advising or investing.
5+ years as a people manager, including running a finance function or a combined finance and accounting function where you owned the team, systems, and processes.
Proven ability to build processes and systems at scale, ideally at a company with large transaction volumes.
Demonstrated success rallying teams across silos toward a shared outcome.
Strong relationships with Sales, Engineering, and other functional leaders, with the influence to move projects forward without escalating every decision.
Confident communicator with boards, auditors, and external vendors.
Comfortable working in the details: you treat a growing company's imperfect systems as work to do rather than a problem to escalate.
Able to work in person from one of our hubs in New York, Washington DC, Austin, or San Francisco.
Experience in fintech, payments, or another business with complex money movement.
Experience leading a company through a first or second annual audit.
Corporate development or M&A experience, including acqui-hires.
