Responsibilities
This is a pivotal opportunity to architect and scale the HR function across Flexport's growing fulfillment network. You will partner directly with Operations leadership, driving the strategic transition from a contingent to a full-time workforce. This involves building comprehensive HR capabilities from the ground up in states like New Jersey, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and California. You will tackle complex challenges related to multi-state compliance, talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR program implementation, all while fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Flexport's mission to make global trade easier for everyone.
Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy tailored for Flexport's Omni (fulfillment) operations, aligning with business objectives and growth plans.
Lead the strategic transition from a temporary to a full-time workforce across all fulfillment centers, including legal compliance, policy development, talent acquisition, and employee integration.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing HR team across multiple geographically dispersed fulfillment center locations.
Ensure robust multi-state compliance for all HR policies, practices, and programs, mitigating risk in a heavily regulated environment and manage claims and adherence to the policies.
Partner effectively with Operations leadership to drive talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management initiatives.
Champion and drive culture, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives across the Omni network.
You should have:
Proven experience leading HR functions in multi-site, large-scale operational environments (e.g., fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing).
Deep expertise in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee relations for large non-exempt workforces.
Demonstrated success building and scaling HR capabilities in new regions or rapidly expanding organizations.
Strong knowledge of US labor laws, claim management, and multi-state compliance requirements, particularly in states like NJ, WI, TX, GA, and CA.
