As an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering Intern at General Matter, you will support the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems for a modern uranium enrichment facility. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to real engineering projects spanning facility power systems, instrumentation, automation, and controls while gaining hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle—from concept development and analysis through testing and implementation.

Assist in the design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of electrical systems ranging from low-voltage DC circuits to high-voltage three-phase power distribution.

Support the development of instrumentation and control systems used throughout General Matter's enrichment facility.

Assist with electrical load calculations, power distribution studies, and analysis of onsite power generation systems, including backup power and microgrid architectures.

Contribute to electrical system documentation, including schematics, specifications, wiring diagrams, and design packages.

Participate in component selection, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation testing.

Support development and execution of qualification and acceptance testing for electrical and control systems.

Work cross-functionally with engineers across multiple disciplines to ensure systems are safe, reliable, manufacturable, and maintainable.

Learn engineering design processes while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers and contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects.
