Senior Power Systems Engineer | Battery R&D

Required

• PhD or Master’s +5 years relevant experience in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with building and validating models of real-world systems in MATLAB / Simulink or Python
• Familiarity with power systems and high voltage system protections, both active and passive
• Contributions to HV system design in the EV or other HVDC applications
• Ability to synthesize large, complex data sets into actionable engineering insights
• Above and Beyond Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience designing data acquisition systems — selecting sample rates, resolution, filtering, and instrumentation to capture the physics that matters
• Skill in design of experiments —detailing efficient test matrices that validate models with minimal testing and maximum learning
• Ability to diagnose model-to-hardware discrepancies — using test data to identify what's missing, what's wrong, and what needs refinement
• Prior work with aviation certification standards (e.g. ARP 4754 / ARP 4761) or work in other safety-critical environments
• Experience modeling and system identification of real-world systems in MATLAB and Simulink
• Communication with DAQ devices, data manipulation and storage
