BETA Technologies The A&P Mechanic - Flight Test performs hands-on maintenance, inspection, and repair of all-electric aircraft to support integration, maintenance, and flight test operations. This role requires an A&P certification and involves travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, adjust, and repair mechanical equipment installed in aircraft using hand tools and test equipment
Inspect function of mechanical equipment for defects and accuracy of assembly and installation
Test mechanical equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness
Adjust, replace, or repair defective components based on analysis of function test results
Perform composites structural inspections, repairs, and modifications
Maintain aircraft forms and maintenance records
Perform regular maintenance on aircraft high voltage systems, electric propulsion systems, avionics, instrumentation systems, landing gear and composite structures
Perform ground operation for Flight Test
Modify aircraft to support operational and flight test requirements
Communicate with engineers and project managers to recommend changes to aircraft systems
Coordinate and perform ground test operations
Organize and maintain aircraft ground support equipment and hardware

Strong skills in mechanical and airframe and power plant technical support including installation, repair, and fabrication support
Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in mechanical repair and fabrication situations and in addressing engineers and their design and modification needs
Strong knowledge of glass cockpit mechanical systems; troubleshooting; ringing out; wiring diagrams; wiring needs; and wiring practices, mods, and terminations
Experience with flight operation support required
Experience with aircraft repair or modification required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external colleagues/customers
High energy, self-motived, organized and detail-oriented while maintaining an understanding of priority

Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Willing and able to travel for work domestically and internationally
