Realitydefender Quality Assurance Engineer responsible for test planning, execution, and automation of APIs, SDKs, web app, and real-time integrations. Ensures high-quality releases through defect tracking and performance testing.
Responsibilities
Own test planning and execution for assigned product areas — APIs, SDKs, the web app, and real-time voice and video integrations — from requirements review through release sign-off
Build and maintain automated test suites (API, end-to-end, and regression) and integrate them into our CI/CD pipelines
Find, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, and impact, and work with engineers through to resolution
Test the reliability and performance of real-time detection under realistic conditions — latency, load, varied audio and video quality, and different platforms and devices
Help maintain the test data and media sets used to validate each release
Partner with the AI Research and Red Team to support model release validation and regression testing
Help Customer Support and Solutions Engineering reproduce and triage customer-reported issues
Contribute to QA standards, documentation, and release checklists across the engineering team
3+ years of experience in software QA or quality engineering, testing web applications and APIs in a fast-moving release environment.
Hands-on experience writing automated tests in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar, using frameworks such as Pytest, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
Experience testing REST APIs (e.g., Postman or code-based API tests) and working within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to finding edge cases — you think about how things break, not just whether they work.
Clear written communication: your bug reports and test plans are easy for engineers to act on.
Experience testing audio, video, or real-time communication products (WebRTC, telephony, conferencing). (nice to have)
Experience testing ML-powered products or working with test datasets. (nice to have)
Exposure to performance or load testing tools (e.g., k6, Locust, JMeter). (nice to have)
Within 12 months, you'll...
Own QA for multiple product areas with minimal oversight.
Have helped establish quality metrics (escaped defects, coverage, release stability) that the team tracks and acts on.
Be improving QA tooling and practices beyond your own areas.
