Oura Staff Antenna Design Engineer at Oura designs and optimizes antennas for low-power wearable devices. Collaborates cross-functionally to integrate antennas into constrained form factors and ensures performance through production.
Responsibilities
You will create high performing wearable products.
Design, simulate, and optimize antennas for low-power wearable devices, including multi-band multisystem solutions.
Perform electromagnetic simulations (e.g., CST, HFSS, others) and validate designs with bench and OTA measurements.
Build prototypes quickly and effectively to evaluate design concepts
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to integrate antennas into highly constrained form factors.
Conduct over-the-air (OTA) performance testing and troubleshooting in collaboration with other engineering teams.
Drive root cause analysis and design iteration for antenna performance issues in prototypes and production units.
Work with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and Oura manufacturing teams to ensure antenna performance is maintained throughout production.
Document design processes, results, and performance metrics for internal knowledge sharing and regulatory compliance.
Stay up to date on emerging materials, methods, and technologies in miniature antenna design.
Travel to support prototype builds in both Europe and Asia: ~5-20% of time yearly to Oulu, Finland
