Sonarsource Senior Revenue Accountant, Technical Lead at Sonarsource to own complex revenue recognition processes and ensure compliance with US GAAP. Leads cross-functional initiatives and mentors accounting team members.

Responsibilities

Lead complex customer contract and technical accounting reviews under ASC 606 for Software/SaaS arrangements, including variable consideration, contract modifications, and material right assessments.
Partner with Sales, Deal Desk and Legal to assess the revenue recognition implications of commercial strategies, deal structures, and new offerings.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across revenue-related areas under both US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
Serve as the escalation point for complex close issues and drive timely resolution to protect reporting accuracy and deadlines.
Research and interpret new accounting standards and evolving business models, prepare technical accounting memos, recommend policy updates, and communicate conclusions to leadership.
Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, technology, and AI-enabled solutions within management reporting processes.
Mentor and develop accounting team members and serve as a trusted resource across the broader finance organization.
Assist with ongoing audits and liaise with external auditors.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
7+ years of progressive experience in Revenue Accounting, including direct ownership of complex ASC 606 judgements and operational execution at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and ability to prepare audit-ready documentation and evidence based recommendations, along with proficiency in accounting systems and Excel.
