Responsibilities
The New York Times' Advertising team is looking for a Director, Measurement and Insights. As the Director, Measurement you will manage an experienced team, ensuring they present campaign performance to clients. You will also develop benchmarks that guide future campaigns and creative strategies. You will lead the team responsible for evaluating campaign effectiveness across all New York Times sub-brands. As the Director, Measurement you will guide the measurement roadmap to enhance client relationships and solidify their trust in The Times as an advertising partner. This is a hybrid role based in our New York headquarters, reporting to the Senior Director, Measurements, Audience and Insights. You can typically expect to be in the office 3 days per week.
The Director, Measurement responsibilities include leading the development of tools that ensure we are bringing performative products to market. These responsibilities also involve consulting with clients on the effectiveness of their advertising through data-driven narratives. Additionally, you will build new privacy-first solutions that progress our portfolio of campaign performance offerings.
Lead the enhancement of our suite of measurement solutions across the full marketing funnel
Analyze campaign effectiveness and develop measurement narratives that are both applicable for clients and for the teams responsible for media strategy
Collaborate alongside the wider measurement team to provide holistic performance stories to main clients
Partner with product marketing to ensure our go-to-market approach is bolstered by performance data and insights
Ensure our suite of proprietary metrics are used to enhance our ability to help clients achieve their goals, within ad effectiveness studies
Consult with advertising clients to identify their needs to recommend and design the appropriate measurement solutions, and measurement-backed campaign recommendations on an ongoing basis
Contribute to our measurement roadmap by recommending and performing research projects and through thought-provoking POVs
Mentor a team of experienced managers and analysts
Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Qualification
5+ years of experience managing a teamAdditional Compensation and BenefitsFor roles in the UFor roles outside of the U$150
Required
8+ years of experience in digital publishing/media or agency
5+ years of Measurement specialization in running measurement projects, such as Brand Lift, Attribution and Sales Lift studies.
5+ years of experience managing a team
Demonstrated experience writing and presenting clear and cogent narratives
Experience with ad technologies and solid knowledge of the larger digital advertising ecosystem
Technical familiarity with 3P measurement and attribution partners such as Kantar, Dynata, Nielsen, Comscore, Brand Metrics & ABCS Insights.
Experience working with client-facing sales teams, strategy and creative.
Preferred
Experience working with audio measurement tools such as Podscribe
Experience working in the Publication Industry
