Insurance Billing Specialist

Required

• You own insurance billing across the full cycle — eligibility verification, prior authorizations, claim submission, denial management, appeals, and aged-account resolution — with a real track record of improving collections and reducing outstanding balances.
• Hands-on DME billing experience is essential — you’ve been directly responsible for billing outcomes on durable medical equipment claims, not just adjacent to them.
• You can read an EOB and know the next move — accurately identifying coverage, payments, denials, adjustments, and patient responsibility, then deciding whether to rebill, appeal, escalate, or close.
• You’re fluent in medical coding and compliance — CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10, plus the standards that govern DME billing (HIPAA, CMS, ERISA, ACA).
• You’re hands-on with Brightree and NikoHealth and can work in both without ramp-up; familiarity with other billing/EMR systems (Epic, Kareo, AdvancedMD) is a plus.
• You bring at least 3 years of professional insurance billing and eligibility experience where you were directly responsible for billing outcomes.
• You’re a clear, empathetic communicator — able to explain a denial or a patient-responsibility balance to a patient, provider, or payer without jargon and without losing patience.
• You’re detail-obsessed and organized, holding accuracy steady while juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
