Cpgroup The Assistant Chief Engineer leads the engineering team daily and supports the Chief Engineer in property operations, focusing on building systems maintenance and vendor coordination. This role ensures critical systems meet company and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and supervise all preventative maintenance work
Work with contractors/vendors and building personnel
Respond to tenant requests and make necessary repairs
Review building and tenant alterations for design conformity
Maintain building plans, equipment specifications, and operating manuals
Provide hands-on service and maintenance of building systems
Operate and maintain all HVAC equipment
Maintain building support, safety, and security equipment
Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools
Respond to building emergencies
Maintain emergency, mechanical, operation, and environmental records
Maintain Cost Code ledger and budget spreadsheets

Qualification

Required

Minimum three years building maintenance experience.
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Extensive knowledge of standard commercial buildings equipment and machinery, especially HVAC systems/chillers.
Microsoft Outlook and office package and EMS/BAS Software a plus.
Physical Demands:
Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
May require shift work and/or on call duties.
Must successfully complete background screening.
