Forward Deployed Marketing Engineer

Required

• We look for six things: marketing experience, builder aptitude, product depth, initiative and ownership, customer credibility, and fluency with the modern marketing stack. This role is for marketers who build, not engineers who want to learn marketing.
• Marketing experience. 5-8 years in marketing or working closely with marketing teams, whether in-house, at an agency or consultancy, or in a martech role. You understand marketers’ priorities, recognize strong work, and have helped teams improve how they work through technology.
• Builder aptitude. You’re curious about how technology can improve marketing and willing to experiment. Technical experience isn’t required; automating a process, configuring marketing tools, building with LLMs or connecting systems is a strong plus.
• Product depth. You learn new tools quickly, explore what they can do and apply them to real work. We’ll train you to become an expert in Profound. Profound University certification is a plus.
• Initiative and ownership. You identify opportunities, make recommendations and follow through. You can manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, and keep work moving without waiting for detailed instructions.
• Customer credibility. You communicate clearly, lead conversations with confidence and earn trust with practitioners and senior marketing leaders. You’re comfortable working regularly on site and collaborating with customers’ internal teams, agencies and consultants.
• Tools and technology. Experience with platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Braze, Segment or Clay is helpful. Coding skills are welcome, but neither coding nor a computer science degree is required.
• Specialized expertise (plus). Experience applying AI or marketing automation, or depth in a discipline or industry such as content, lifecycle, pharma, CPG or banking.
• Our process is designed to show us how you think as a practitioner: whether you can understand a real marketing problem, build a credible solution, evaluate what it produces, and explain it to a customer.
• This is an on-site role based in our NYC, SF, or London office, with regular travel to customer sites.
• For this role, our expected base is $149,250 to $155,250 before variable compensation (NYC and SF) and £94,500 to £98,250 before variable compensation (London). Profound’s total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, variable compensation, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.
• Note: All official communication from Profound will come from a @tryprofound.com email address. If you're contacted by anyone using a different domain, please disregard and report it as spam.
