Genscript Purchasing Specialist, Direct Materials at GenScript to manage sourcing and procurement of direct materials and consumables supporting production. Oversee material planning, vendor management, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Oversee material planning for Green Channel item replenishment to meet inventory KPIs
Lead strategic sourcing and procurement process for direct materials and consumables
Develop alternative vendors for critical materials to ensure supply continuity
Conduct category management to identify cost-saving opportunities
Drive value through cost reduction initiatives using negotiation, analytical, and market research skills
Track and report KPIs related to cost savings, cost avoidance, on-time delivery, and efficiency improvements
Execute vendor management including supplier profiles, business reviews, and pricing contracts
Negotiate and execute contracts and agreements in coordination with legal team
Collaborate with production team to support procurement aligned with production processes
Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and market updates
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or higher in BusinessStrong negotiationProject management skillsProven capability to navigate a dynamic
Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on direct materials
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Project management skills, with experience in procurement for lab projects preferred; this experience will be considered a significant advantage
Proven capability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment while adapting to shifting priorities and identifying opportunities
