Help the student with toileting and personal hygiene in a way that protects their privacy and dignity

Help with mobility, positioning, and moving around campus, including transfers when needed

Encourage the student to do as much for themselves as they safely can

Learning and Participation Support

Give one-on-one support to the student throughout the program day, including classes, breaks, lunch, and transitions

Help the student follow classroom routines, directions, and schedules, prompting them when needed

Reinforce what instructors teach and help the student stay engaged and organized during lessons and activities

Encourage positive social interactions with classmates, staff, and community members

Use calm, consistent, positive approaches to help the student manage stress, frustration, or changes in routine

Safety and Communication

Keep the student safe and supervised at all times, following all THAA policies, safety/emergency procedures, and staff directives
