Most FAANG-scale companies ended their fully-remote policies between 2023 and 2025 — Meta, Google, Apple, and most major banks now require 3-5 on-site days. The remote market today is concentrated in three places: AI-first startups (Anthropic, Cohere, Together, Modal — most are remote-first), B2B SaaS at Series A-C, and devtools companies.

What that means for candidates: the remote market is smaller and more competitive than 2022, but the companies hiring remotely tend to pay closer to FAANG-tier comp because they can hire from anywhere. Comp on this page often beats hybrid equivalents at the same seniority.

Time-zone considerations
